Title: High country help Post by: A_A on August 12, 2013, 10,32:11 AM Myself and 3 mates are planning to do a point to point high country ride between the 27th December to the 3rd January (8 days).
We would love some input from people who have done this ride or know the area well. So far we have: To start from Marysville. All 4 riding KTM 525's and 500's. Camp each night in the bush (we will be carrying gear). Refuel at servos where we can, So far two of us have a long range tank (25L & 20L), Will we need more long range tanks to reach some places or will a few L in bags do the others. We need some ideas on the 'places to go', 'tracks to ride', 'things to see' as we have not been riding in this area before. Are there any pubs or places to get fuel around that area that aren't marked on the map ? do we have to phone ahead or just rock up ? Maybe i will have to do a fuel dump the previous weekend ? The boat trip from Tasmania is booked (other 3 are from Tas)so we are definitely doing it this year around. We have at least 2 go pro's (many batteries and SD cards) so we should have some nice footage that i will be able to share. Any input would be appreciated! Cos I reckon I've done a number of them! Title: Re: High country help Post by: Tim Dykes on August 16, 2013, 09,38:10 AM Son of a bitch Spur Is that it's real name, or a euphemism?
