I'm keen to get on the HRC for the first time but i havn't ridden up there before or with so many riders. Can you go at your own pace or is it a bit more competitive than that??

Kossy,

You can go at whatever pace you choose.  It is not a race, so putt around all day if you like!  You will need to finish the ride in a reasonable time trame, so if your going too slow, the sweeps will probably direct you through a few shortcuts, just to make sure you get back in time for dinner!

Join up, come along and have a ball!

Hey Kossy,
I am a very average rider (some may say very very average Grin), from experience of previous years you will find some sections rocky, some steep(ish) up & down hills with some river crossings thrown in. I usually find the most challenging factor is the weather!! You will find that there will always be plenty of fellow riders to offer assistance if needed. Get on board & have a go !!

Hi Kossy.  The ride is not that hard - it's open fire trails.  I'd be more worried about the weather - but lets hope it's fine this year ..

It's good to get the opinion of someone i've ridden with. See you up there.

I am still not sure if I am going this year ...

My hubby can't go and our other mate that we go up with can't go also.  I don't really want to drive 4.5 hours by myself .... I would get scared   Tongue

 We will see.

It's a great ride though, and will be so much better this year as it's now arrowed ( thank goodness ! )
