Hi,

I have just lodged my entry for the ride and it will be my first time to Abbeyard.

What is vehicle access and parking like for 2wd vehicles. I have a Commodore Wagon so pretty bad ground clearance etc.

Thanks
Ash

Ash,
The roads to the property are 2WD with some 2WD dirt roads to drive on. The large property lower and mid sections are 2WD and can be slippery in the wet. With this type of vehicle take your time and get there early to get a primo spot near the front gate which is best for the vehicle described and as a bonus the ground is nice and flat for camping. BTW most other people will have a similar car, NP.

Hi Ash, you will be ok, i have a Merc Van that's 3 ton and i don't have a problem and it's quite low as well.
Anyway if you get bogged at the property, we can torch ya car and send you home with someone else. Grin Grin Grin

They have graded the Abbeyard Rd in preparation for logging so its in good nick still take care on the narrow road.
Also I had a few questions about getting there and made up two simple maps that may help. One is from Myrtleford to the Dandongadale Junction and the other is from the Dandongadale Junction to the AMTRA block at Abbeyard. These should be used with the routing information in the riders packs.
